Collection: CZAPEK
Capek
In 1839, founder François Czapek invited his fellow countryman Patek to join the world of watchmaking, founding Patek Czapek & Cie . His partnership with Antoine Norbert de Patek lasted six years, during which many outstanding timepieces were created , before he became personal watchmaker to Napoleon III and opening one of the first watchmaking boutiques in Paris on the Place Vendôme.
CZAPEK & Cie. was relaunched in 2015 with an outstanding collection, the signature model of which won the Public Prize at the GPHG (Grand Prix de la Watch de Genève) held in Geneva in 2016. This collection was inspired by CZAPEK's work from the 1850s. It features a beautiful enamel dial, a double-hand movement with a 7-day power reserve, the in-house SXH5 caliber, and is assembled in a Swiss workshop under the direction of one of the leading independent watchmakers of the modern era.

Perfect detail
The Antarctic Passage de Drake collection is presented on an ergonomic brushed bracelet.
The sand-brushed links of the bracelet are connected by highly polished links in the shape of the CZAPEK "C". The bracelet features a quick-change system, allowing it to be quickly and easily replaced with a rubber strap decorated with the same trapezoidal pattern as the dial. A masterpiece of CZAPEK's pursuit of perfection.

"Creating a base movement from scratch was more challenging than starting a brand," said De Roquemaurel. "We knew we needed to invest in production, use only the highest quality components, and include the most exquisite finishing to ensure the overall result was truly special." De Roquemaurel Capek developed an open-bridge movement with a micro-rotor for the Antarctic. Highly sophisticated decorative techniques are used, including a platinum rotor that is sandblasted to finish the movement.
Development of SXH5

Modernizing tradition
The movement is an evolution of the No. 3430, a famous pocket watch given to Napoleon III, and is equipped with the SXH1 V2 hand-wound caliber with 36,000 vibrations and a long power reserve of 7 days. The Quai des Berques dial, which combines a traditional look with modern elements, is made of carefully fired Grand Feu enamel with guilloche, which prevents the dial from corroding and exudes a high-quality elegance.

The fleur de lys
The hands of the watch are made of white gold and carefully rhodium-plated, giving them a distinctive clock shape, which is a motif of French aristocracy. The fleur-de-lis pattern is a very noble motif, and only high-ranking aristocrats were allowed to use it at the time. It is a design typical of CZAPEK, the watchmaker exclusively for Napoleon III.
OUR SERVICE
-
Ordering special parts
Comptoine sources and assembles CZAPEK straps, special buckles, and two types of hands from Switzerland, a process that only a select few retailers are allowed to do in Japan.
-
Custom Orders
At Comptoine, we accept some custom orders by combining your own original parts at the Swiss CZAPEK workshop according to your preferences. Please ask our staff for details.
-
Overhaul Service
Overhauls that should normally be done in Switzerland will be done in Japan depending on the wear of the parts. This is a testament to the friendship that has led Comptoine to be entrusted to Capek in Japan. Of course, when we sell our watches, we include a 3-year manufacturer's international warranty that is valid worldwide.

The Birth of SXH1 V2
Capek developed the SXH1 movement based on the legendary No. 3430 movement. It is a beautiful hand-wound movement with a 7-day power reserve. He further redesigned it for the hand-wound watch "Quai des Berg". This is the birth of the SXH1 V2. He succeeded in designing it by incorporating the design of the "skeleton bridge" of the SXH5 mounted on the highly successful Antarctic. He created a movement with phenomenal performance of 36,000 vibrations and a 7-day power reserve.

Events as Absences
We at Comptoine will once again magnify the watch industry with a large microscope. We are no longer in the watch industry as an investment. Therefore, in order to remember that we are a library of watches, we have once again reviewed watches from the past. For Comptoine, the Capek was such a watch.

To the Thousand Plateaus
We have reconsidered the functional and artistic concepts once again, and succeeded in deconstructing a new way of thinking with the history of CZAPEK. Beauty is not beauty, and does not need function. And so we redesign the blueprint of the watch. By repeating this process over and over again in product design, a masterpiece like grapes blooming in the wilderness, naturally created with CZAPEK in the form of horizontal craftsmanship. "Things from the past and things of the future coming together again" Experience the intense exotic stimulation of bringing fashion and everyday life into the black box.

Back to the clock
Comptoine returns to watches again. Of course, it is not an investment, nor is it about function or beauty. We will discard the fixed ideas of the past and create the next dimension of abstraction and concreteness together with our craftsmen as our activity goal for 2030. We leave the answer to future generations. We will challenge ourselves to create new things. Of course, with respect for the great men of the past. Without forgetting the past or the future. And yet, we will move forward without hesitation.

HORIZONTAL MANUFACTURING
CZAPEK works with the best companies in the Swiss watchmaking industry. They are not just suppliers, but true partners, from the manufacturing process to execution. Thanks to their know-how and unparalleled experience, Czapek is not only able to offer the highest quality, but also to innovate in a field where tradition is the norm. The concept of horizontal specialization in manufacturing is not new; it is simply the modern continuation of what was already practiced in the 19th century, known as "établissage".
It is with great pride that we introduce below all the partners who have helped us create these watches.

DONZÉ CADRANS
"Grand Feu" enamel is one of the most difficult techniques for watch decoration and offers the greatest durability. Instead of painting the motifs on the watch, DONZÉ CADRANS masters apply oxides to the dial. The enameler then places the dial in fire (800-900°C) several times, allowing the motifs and colours to gradually emerge. "Grand Feu" enamel creates an irrevocable and refined decoration. There are only three ateliers in Switzerland that are able to reproduce "Grand Feu" enamel.
-

-
AB CONCEPT & AB PRODUCT
Primarily dedicated to the design and manufacture of components for the high-end watch industry, the two companies were founded in 2003 by Aurélien Bouchet and are now fully integrated manufacturers. To them owe the titanium crown protector, integrated into the stretcher as a Boolean function, and the fleur-de-lis hands (extremely thin burnished hands in white gold), machined with a 0.15 mm tool.

"QUAI DES BERGUES" - A fusion of traditional techniques and modern space
Comptoine appreciates the artistry of the Quai des Bergues, the first timekeeper collection that heralded the revival of Czapek & Cie. 7-day power reserve, Francois Czapek technique, this is a homage to the place where Francois Czapek founded the company in Geneva in 1845. The timeless value that fascinates all watch fans shows the direction of Comptoine's philosophy of wanting people to wear a watch as a new thing.
