CENTURY Sapphire is the second hardest substance after diamond. It scores 9 out of 10 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness and can only be scratched by other sapphires or diamonds. CENTURY Sapphire is prized for its extremely light weight, making it comfortable to wear on the wrist every day. CENTURY watches feature the most exquisite sapphire cases in the world. Just one requires days of superb craftsmanship, precision cutting and expert hand-polishing with diamond-faced tools in our Swiss workshops. All of our artisans train in-house. Only then can they master the art of making CENTURY sapphire cases and pass on their expertise to the next generation, continuing the process of expanding and refining our noble tradition. Our skilled team's work must be perfect. If a mistake is made during cutting or polishing, there is no going back.

Innovation and timeless beauty

To protect its unique design, CENTURY has registered patents and certificates for the special construction of its CENTURY sapphire watch cases: "Megalith" and "Monolith" are two processes that allow the watch to be carved either from two inseparably fused sapphires or from a single sapphire block. These innovative processes are still in use today and the Megalith system in particular is a hallmark of almost every CENTURY watch.
