MINASE Technology

MINASE is a domestic watch brand. It is a comprehensive watch manufacturer that applies the craftsmanship of precision cutting tools to watch manufacturing, and handles everything from design and development to manufacturing. Zaratsu polishing

Zaratsu polishing is a method of pressing the surface against a flat whetstone, so if there are any protruding parts on the side of the surface being polished, those parts will also be polished away. This means that the case needs to be disassembled into individual parts until each surface can be polished one by one. This requires a lot of man-hours and high assembly precision, making it very difficult.

MORE stands for MINASE ORIGINAL REBUILDING EQUATION.
The MORE structure is a patented structure developed by MINASE with the passion of "making watches that people will still be talking about 100 years from now" in mind. Inspired by Japanese joinery, it is a design concept that allows the exterior to be disassembled and reassembled over and over again. The exterior is disassembled down to each individual part, polished, and parts are replaced if necessary, and then rebuilt. It can be thought of as a permanent after-sales service hidden behind the complex structure that is unique to MINASE.

Case-in-case construction

The dial section inside the case is designed as a second case that covers the movement, and the dial appears to float, as if it were a microcosm that contains time. This unprecedented, innovative idea and cutting and polishing performed to an accuracy of 1/1000 of a millimeter according to the design drawings make it possible to realize a case made up of many disassembled parts.

Clamping Structure

This was an original design by MINASE, based on the motif of a prong ring, which is said to bring out the best sparkle in jewelry. The four prongs, cut in a three-dimensional way, firmly press the case and glass together. The dial was inspired by the clear waters of the Minase River, and the glass has a gentle vertical curve. Although simple, the precisely calculated shimmer of light creates a timeless beauty.
