Comptoine: The revival of watch and jewelry repair techniques

The name Contévanou is a combination of the vintage decoration technique called “Continuous Concept”, which connects the bracelet to the case, famous for the Patek Philippe 3588/2, and the feminine noun “Où il ya un comptoir de travail”, the place where a work desk is located.
When finishing the circular grain decoration of watch jewelry, it takes several days of hard work to complete the piece, carefully working by hand with a chisel, just like finishing a piece of knitting.
Decorations finished with machines or lathes are the same as knitting finished with a sewing machine, and compared to decorations made with a chisel and by a craftsman, there will be visible roughness.

Our concept is to perfect the mundane task of "Continuous Concept".


Even when changing a battery, we predict the condition of the circuit board from the manufacturing condition and age of the watch, and decide whether the problem can be fixed by simply changing the battery, whether the circuit board needs to be replaced, and whether there is a current leak. We assess various factors and immediately begin work. We understand the damage to the machine caused by adhesion to water, air, and skin, and work to minimize the impact on the original. If the waterproof packing is damaged, we add oil again to maintain the waterproof performance of the original, or obtain permission to replace the packing and improve the waterproof performance, and then perform the entire process of changing the battery.

"Continuous Concept" means to pursue perfection by continuing to work without compromise and doing the job perfectly.

Watch overhauls, polishing, engraving, jewelry remodeling, we do all of our work like threading a needle. However, Comptoine is never pretentious and always carries out our work with care, keeping in mind that we are a local repair shop.
Breguet, the watchmaker, did not make watches for investment purposes. All of his watches were created for the sake of functionality and elegance, and to be given as presents.
